site.btaNation-wide Cleanup to Be Held Sept. 16

A large-scale volunteer campaign to clean up waste will be held across Bulgaria on Saturday. Organized by bTV for the 11th time, it is mottoed "We Are Ready!" and will support the causes of the "Let's Do It World"  civil movement for public sensitivity to environmental protection.

The Ministry of Environment and Water is a main partner of the initiative, providing financial support of nearly BGN 68,500 for the purchase of 40,000 garbage bags and 40,000 disposable gloves. The regional authorities have received more than 2,8000 vouchers for fuel to transport the collected waste to the corresponding depots.

On the day of the cleanup, experts from the regional environment and water inspectorates across Bulgaria will process the information about the collected waste. The data will be used to summarize and report on the cleanup activities within the national campaign.

Employees of all 15 regional environment and water inspectorates, the three national parks, and the four water basin directorates will join the cleanup.
