site.btaEighth Edition of Uzana Meadow Fest Starts near Gabrovo

The eighth edition of Uzana Meadow Fest was opened here on Satuday. 

The event, which started Friday and will last until Sunday, is organized in the Uzana area near Gabrovo. 

"It is a great pleasure to see us together again on this wonderful meadow in the Uzana area. It brings us together for an exceptional festival - the Uzana Meadow Fest, a place where people who want to make our planet a better place for our children can come together, share ideas, learn new things and make new friends," said Gabrovo Mayor Tanya Hristova at the opening.

The festival has been held for eight years. She thanked Violeta Yaneva who took the first important step towards this forum.  

  The thematic focus of the Festival this year is climate, its changes and adaptation to climatic phenomena.  There are specialised zones for different ecological experiences - an exhibition and bazaar of organic and home-made food, crafts, local producers and a programme of music, spiritual practices, art workshops, concerts, lectures and demonstrations of different green ideas and solutions, the Gabrovo Municipality said. 

The festival days will be complemented by hikes in the mountains, a farmer's market, art workshops, a spiritual practice area, a youth zone, a children's center and a mini soccer tournament. Public transport has been organised for the event and buses will wait until the end of the concerts in the evenings to take those who wish to travel to Gabrovo, organisers added. 

The ecological Uzana Meadow Fest is organised by the Municipality of Gabrovo and is part of the "green" initiatives dedicated to nature conservation.
