The Bulgarian Red Cross (BRC) Wednesday presented awards to donors, volunteers, employees and partners, including the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA). The awards were presented by BRC Chairman Hristo Grigorov during an official ceremony on the occasion of World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day, May 8, said the organization.
This year the BRC celebrates its 145th anniversary.
BTA, bTV Media Group, the Bulgarian National Television, Nova Broadcasting Group, and Gergana Hrischeva, a journalist from the Bulgarian National Radio, were distinguished for their active and long-standing partnership with the Red Cross and their support for the national campaign for the victims of the Ukraine war. The awardees received a certificate of appreciation and a badge of honour for humanity with the face of the founder of the Red Cross movement, Henry Dunant.
The Red Cross distinguished corporate donors who supported various organization causes in 2022: Billa Bulgaria, Shell Bulgaria, Insa Oil, Calcit AD, the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Condex Ltd, OMV Bulgaria, CPA Chem, Lesaffre Bulgaria, Jupiter 05 and J&T Services.
Volunteers and activists of the organization were awarded with the special award of the Bulgarian Youth Red Cross.
