site.btaFestival in Moldova Presents Bulgarian Folklore

Bulgarian folklore was presented during the inaugural edition of the Radacini si ramuri sub salcii [Roots and Branches under the Willows] festival, which took place in the village of Albota de Jos, Taraclia District in Moldova on Sunday. The event was the finale of a project of the same name, implemented with the support of Moldova's Agency of Intervention and Payments in Agriculture and the local administration.
The festival brought together participants and guests from several villages in the area. The programme included exhibitions by craftsmen, a market of local producers and tastings of traditional cuisine. Visitors also enjoyed song and dance performances.
Local Bulgarians, Moldovans, Gagauz, Ukrainians, Roma and others actively participated in the preparation of the festival, as they presented traditional dishes and drinks.
The organizers were hopeful that the festival will become an annual tradition.
