On March 21, the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in Budapest will present a photo exhibition by Roszen Kalpacski, titled “A Let Neurologiaja” (“Neurology of Being”), said the Institute on its Facebook page.
Roszen Kalpacski is a Bulgarian doctor, captivated by the magic of black-and-white artistic photography, which he has been practicing since he was a student. He said that the square format most closely matches his way of perception and expression, as it resembles the opening that the surgeon sees, leaning over the operating table.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Roszen Kalpacski specialized in neurology in Sofia, Prague, Constanta and King’s College London. He was the principal researcher in over 10 international clinical studies in the areas of epilepsy, pain, multiple sclerosis, stroke.
He established and headed the first highly specialized stroke treatment centre in Bulgaria; and chairs the Epilepsy Commission; the Multiple Sclerosis Commission; and the Parkinson's Disease Commission at the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF); he authored monographs, textbooks and articles in Bulgarian and foreign publications. He was elected Best Doctor in the Darik Radio polls.
Kalpacski prefers the romantic manifestations of old cameras, seeing in each of them unique perfect creations of metal and glass, which are created almost to be eternal, noted the Bulgarian Cultural Institute. He likes to experiment, and his first audience were his colleagues from abroad.
“We believe that the audience at the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in Budapest will appreciate the multifaceted talent of a gifted person who perceives existence as a holistic whole and will immerse themselves in the rich aesthetic, artistic and psychological world of Roszen Kalpacski,” reads the invitation to the event by the Bulgarian Cultural Institute.
