In Moldova's Taraclia Region, February 14 is not only Valentine's Day and Trifon Zarezan (in honor of Saint Tryphon) but also National Reading Day, celebrated in cultural and educational institutions. This date coincides with the International Book Giving Day. To mark the holiday, the regional public library in Taraclia and its branches have organised a Gift a Book to the Library campaign. Anyone who wishes can donate a book to the reading room to share literature with other readers. Especially welcomed are works of classics - both by Bulgarian and foreign authors - and educational literature for young readers. All donated books will be registered and will enrich the library's collection.

Library Director Nadezhda Tanova told tuk.md that books on personal development, psychology and goal achievement, as well as classic literature, detective stories, romance novels, and science fiction are particularly popular among readers. National Reading Day is celebrated in Moldova for the third time in a row.

The library of the Gregory Tsamblak Taraclia State University held a Donate Books with Love! campaign from February 7 to 14. The event aimed to enrich and renew the library collection. The organizers said that the book has always been and remains a precious gift that can find new grateful readers. Anyone who wished could join the campaign by donating books in good condition.

Taraclia Region is located in the south of Moldova and includes 26 settlements, including the towns of Taraclia and Tvarditsa. According to the 2014 census, about 40,000 people live there, 66% of whom are ethnic Bulgarians.
