The Bulgarian language was presented during a festival dedicated to the European Day of Languages in Riga, Latvia, the Board of Trustees of the Cyril and Methodius Latvian-Bulgarian Cultural Society in Riga said. They were also presenters at the Bulgarian stand.
The visitors of the festival had the opportunity to get acquainted with the letters of the Glagolitic and Cyrillic alphabets, with the calligraphic-artistic schools and writing centres that existed in the Bulgarian lands, and to look at Bulgarian manuscripts, part of the collection of the Ivan Vazov National Library in Plovdiv.
The Bulgarian stand displayed samples of the Slavic manuscript collection of the Plovdiv National Library, copies of the Gospel of Tsar Ivan Alexander, stored in London, Slavobulgarian History by Paisius of Hilendar, stored in the Zograf Monastery in Mount Athos, and other materials presenting the linguistic and cultural heritage of Bulgaria.
Anyone wishing to view the exhibition can do so until October 19 by visiting the House of NGOs in Riga, located at Ieriķu iela Str. 43a.
