Bulgarians Gather for Horoteka in New York on September 21
Bulgarians Gather for Horoteka in New York on September 21

Bulgarians from New York City and the surrounding area will have the opportunity to gather and do traditional Bulgarian ring dances (horos) in the framework of the Horoteka, organized by expats Elisaveta Yordanova and Gergana Stoyancheva, according to their Facebook page.

The Horoteka will take place on September 21 at KTown Dance Studio, New York.

Elisaveta Yordanova has been living, working and creating in New York for more than 15 years. She is the founder of the Gorana dance ensemble and works as a choreographer, teacher, artist and therapist. 

She has been honoured by the Society of Foreign Consuls in New York for her contributions to the Bulgarian community abroad. 

Yordanova told BTA that her first years in the USA were difficult, but perseverance, sacrifice and patience have yielded results. Today, in New York she enjoys a fulfilling professional life, a husband and a daughter.
