The Education and Science Ministry in Sofia has provided a new bus for the children attending the Hristo Botev Bulgarian Secondary School in the Slovak capital. Thirty children travel from Vienna, from Hungary and places around Bratislava to the school in Bratislava.

The school had 96 students in the past school year and 110 have enrolled for the new one, the Education Ministry said.

During a visit to the school earlier this year, Education and Science Minister Galin Tsokov pledged the Ministry would provide a vehicle for children living in remote places who want to attend classes.

The Bulgarian secondary school in Bratislava was established in 1948 and celebrated its 75th anniversary last November.

The school uses Bulgarian curricula and syllabuses, with additional classes in Slovak language, history and geography. The teachers implement innovative practices and participate in programmes and projects in both Slovakia and Bulgaria.
