On July 9, interim Bulgarian Consul General in Nis, Petar Danov, signed the first twelve project agreements in Serbia funded under the 2024 Programme for Support to Bulgarian Community Organizations in Albania, Serbia, Kosovo, Ukraine, Moldova and to Citizens of the Republic of North Macedonia with Bulgarian identity.

The beneficiaries are associations of the Bulgarian community in Caribrod, Bosilegrad, Pirot, Nis, Vranje. The total value of the signed agreements is BGN 215,120.81. The funds are allocated for projects aimed at preserving Bulgarian spirit and culture among the Bulgarians in Serbia and will have to be implemented by end-2024.

Bulgaria's Consulate General in Nis reports that the programme will end in 2024. 2024 is the programme’s fourth consecutive year of support to the Bulgarian Community Organizations.
