The Cyril and Methodius Bulgarian Society in the city of Comodoro Rivadavia, Chubut Province, Argentina will present Bulgarian traditions, folklore and cuisine during an event which will be held on July 6 at the Cultural Centre of the Argentine city, the leadership of the Bulgarian association told BTA.
"We plan to show the guests how to make one of the most popular Bulgarian pastry products, banitsa, and at a special culinary stand they will be able to try meatballs and strudel," said the Cyril and Methodius Bulgarian Society, extending an invitation to compatriots and descendants of Bulgarians from the surrounding area to join the festive evening.
The cultural programme will include the Orpheus vocal-instrumental formation, dance performances, as well children's dance performances.
The Cyril and Methodius Bulgarian Society in the Argentinian city of Comodoro Rivadavia is the southernmost Bulgarian association in the world. It was created in 1989 with the main goal of gathering descendants of Bulgarians who moved to Argentina in the 1930s. The company has established a Bulgarian folk dance group and a musical group, which participate in the festive events organized by the Bulgarian community and present Bulgarian culture and traditions to the Argentine community.
