Some 81% of the respondents to a Bulgaria Wants You survey in Berlin are considering a permanent move back to Bulgaria, the platform reported on Wednesday.
The poll was conducted at the last edition of the largest forum for Bulgarians abroad "Career and Life - Why in Bulgaria?" which was held in Berlin on April 13. Bulgaria Wants You said that the event was attended by nearly 1,000 Bulgarians. Bulgarian Ambassador to Germany Grigor Porozhanov was also in attendance.
The organizers summarized that nearly 90% of the respondents have been living abroad for more than five years. Some 46% said that the reason for their emigration was the search for better education and higher income, and over 59% point to better professional career as the main reason.
The results of the Bulgaria Wants You survey in Berlin were similar to those at the editions in Munich, London and Vienna, the platform said. A total of 71.8% of those who filled in the questionnaire stressed that they are willing to apply what they have learned abroad in their home country and are currently looking for a career in Bulgaria.
The next edition of the forum will be held at the National Palace of Culture in Sofia on June 14.
