At the invitation of the GLAS Association of Bosilegrad, pupils from Kyustendil, who are part of The New Masters School of Art will paint murals in the Southeastern Serbian city between August 1 and 4.
In a project titled "The Butterfly Effect," the young artists will depict several large-size photo-realistic butterflies, typical of the Krajiste ecosystem, on the walls of houses in Bosilegrad.
"This is an artistic way to show the futility of human boundaries that nature refuses to comply with. The other strand of the project relates to the theory that when a butterfly flaps its wings at one end of the world, global changes can occur at the other. The New Masters will generate a discreet, delicate breeze with their art, and change is somehow inevitable after that," the head of the school, Evgeni Serafimov, told BTA.
The official part of the project's completion will take place at 6 p.m. on August 3 in the centre of Bosilegrad, near the Vasil Levski Monument.
The GLAS Association implemented this initiative on funds raise in a charity action.
The New Masters will take their art to Bosilegrad for a second year running. In 2022, they did several mural compositions exploring traditional ethnic and modern themes.
The self-supporting art school functions under the Partners-Kyustendil Association without any public grant financing.
