The first stage of the cargo unloading after the arrival of the Bulgarian naval research ship Sv. Sv. Kiril i Metodii (RSV 421) on Livingston Island within the 31st Bulgarian Antarctic expedition has been completed, Flotilla Admiral Prof. Boyan Mednikarov, Rector of the Nikola Vaptsarov Naval Academy in Varna told BTA.
During the operation, RSV 421 stocked the St. Kliment Ohridski Bulgarian Antarctic base with fuel, food and other supplies, but also supported the neighboring Spanish base Juan Carlos I. As Antarctic traditions of cooperation dictate, on February 13 and 14 the crew of St. Cyril and Methodius, Bulgarian and Spanish polar explorers worked side by side to help each other with transfer to the coast.

Ден 50 - Антарктида - Завърши първият етап от товаро-разтоварните дейности на о-в Ливингстън
О-в. Ливингстън (15 февруари 2023) Завърши първият етап от товаро-разтоварните дейности на о-в Ливингстън след пристигането на българския военен научноизследователски кораб „Св. св. Кирил и Методий“ в рамките на 31-вата родна антарктическа експедиция. Това сподели пред БТА флотилен адмирал проф. Боян Медникаров, началник на Висшето военноморско училище „Н. Й. Вапцаров“.
При операцията НИК 421 запаси българската антарктическа база „Св. Климент Охридски“ с гориво, храна и други консумативи, но също така подпомогна с материална част и съседната испанска база „Хуан Карлос I”. Както антарктическите традиции на сътрудничество повеляват, на 13 и 14 февруари екипажът на „Св. св Кирил и Методий“, български и испански полярници работиха рамо до рамо, за да си помогнат взаимно с трансферните дейности до брега.
