Burgas (11 september 2023) Creche № 3 in the coastal city of Burgas reopened after a major renovation project which made it the first one in Bulgaria to use geothermal energy for air conditioning. The installation uses a loop of pipes and a temperature-conducting fluid that collects the geothermal energy from two boreholes at a depth between 100 and 120 meters. No water is drawn from the earth. The energy is used to power two units, one to heat and one to cool the building. The geothermal installation is an environment-friendly and emission-saving way to air-condition using renewable sources. The creche also has a new playground.
