The National Press Club of the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) in Gotse Delchev was officially opened on May 11, 2025, the day commemorating Saints Cyril and Methodius, which is also the feast day of the city’s cathedral.

The press club was consecrated by His Eminence Seraphim, Metropolitan of Nevrokop.
“Best wishes to the correspondents, collaborators, and all those working at the Bulgarian News Agency, as well as everyone working in Bulgarian media. May Saints Cyril and Methodius support you, the laborers of the word,” said Metropolitan Seraphim.

The national press clubs of BTA are places where Bulgarians can be heard and take part in discussions about Bulgaria and the European Union, said Kiril Valchev, BTA’s Director General, during the opening of the 33rd BTA national press club in Bulgaria.
Valchev presented geographic, demographic, economic, and historical arguments for the need for BTA to have a permanent presence in Gotse Delchev. He expressed gratitude to Mayor Vladimir Moskov, his deputies, City Council Chairman Ivan Gerov, and all councilors who unanimously supported the donation of space for the national press club in a historic building in the city center.

The ceremony was attended by Milen Mitev, Director General of Bulgarian National Radio (BNR), Anton Andonov, member of the Management Board of Bulgarian National Television (BNT), Boyko Vassilev, host of BNT’s current affairs program Panorama, Albena Kolchakova, Executive Producer of BNT’s morning show, Gospodin Yovchev, Chief Operating Officer of bTV, Marta Evtimova, Executive Producer of Nova TV News, Evgenia Drumeva, Deputy Director General of BTA, Yulia Sokolova, BTA Secretary General, and representatives of national and local media, academia, local government, and citizens, including Mayor Vladimir Moskov of Gotse Delchev.
