The Bulgarian News Agency's (BTA) new national press club in Varna was opened on August 15, 2021, the Dormition of the Mother of God, which is the city's holiday. It was blessed by Metropolitan Ioan of Varna and Veliki Preslav.

The ceremony was attended by Regional Governor Mario Smurkov, Municipal Council Chair Todor Balabanov, MEP Emil Radev, MPs, members of academic and scientific community, the judiciary, cultural, social and media institutions. BTA Director General Kiril Valchev invited the local public and the city's guests to send their messages at BTA's press club, explaining that the office will also be a place for exchange of professional experience and further journalistic trainings, because Varna is a city with glorious traditions in Bulgarian journalism, as well as in education.
