BTA Director General Kiril Valchev inaugurated the national press club in Burgas on the feast of the city, St. Nicholas Day, on December 6, 2021. It is located in what use to be a BTA office. The building is part of a unique architectural ensemble, which gives the characteristic appearance of the old Burgas and preserves the spirit of the past century. The emblematic house was built back in 1911 and is located near the Burgas City Hall and the Regional Government's building.
Among the official guests at the opening event were Deputy Regional Development Minister Nina Stoimenova, Burgas Mayor Dimitar Nikolov, the Director of the Regional Directorate of the Interior, Chief Commissioner Kaloyan Kaloyanov, representatives of business, science, culture figures and journalists.
The presence of BTA in Burgas dates back to the 1970s and five BTA correspondents have worked in the seaside town before the current one. The idea is for the new press club to be a place for press conferences, discussions, exhibitions, a center for communication between media and representatives of business, politics, culture, sports, for exchange of professional experiences and training, including for journalists.
