site.btaBulgaria Has Unrealized Potential in Wine Production, Says Vazrazhdane in Gabrovo
"Wine production is an agricultural activity that is physically demanding, but the product from it can have a very high added value", said Vazrazhdane top-of-the-list candidate in Gabrovo Daniel Petrov on Monday.
He noted that making wine was once a tradition for almost every family in Bulgaria and that Vazrazhdane will pay serious attention to this industry, in which the country has been one of the market leaders in the past.
Petrov emphasised that there is a huge, untapped potential in wine production and the State should make it a question of honour for anyone who has a little land to produce Bulgarian quality wine that can compete with the leading brands globally.
"At the moment, state policies rather aim at the exact opposite, reducing the domestic production of this type of products as much as possible", Petrov said.
