At a BTA press conference in Yambol on Thursday, Kostadinov voiced his apprehensions regarding the intensifying global discord. "The Third World War has already breached our threshold," he said, alluding to a declaration adopted by the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in Sofia on Monday vowing support for Ukraine until victory is achieved

He lambasted the response of the US media to his remarks, alleging they accused him of stoking fear. He said he only echoed the recent cautionary words of Ursula von der Leyen, who forewarned that Europe must prepare for war.

Kostadinov put focus on US demands for Bulgaria to deploy troops to Ukraine. He framed the upcoming elections as a choice between war and supporting the Vazrazhdane party. He labelled the current leaders as puppets of the US, intent on dragging the country into the war in Ukraine.
