site.btaMinister Tahov to Attend EU Agriculture and Fisheries Council in Brussels

Minister of Agriculture and Food Georgi Tahov will participate in the European Union (EU) Agriculture and Fisheries Council, which will be held Monday in Brussels, the Ministry said.

Member states are expected to discuss amending the Common Market Organisation Regulation and strengthening the position of farmers in the food supply chain. The agenda includes a debate on the possibilities for simplifying the green architecture of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) and on trade-related agricultural issues.

This is the first EU Agriculture and Fisheries Council meeting for 2025, and the next one is scheduled for February 24.

A check on the EU Council's website shows that at the upcoming meeting, the Polish Presidency will publicly present its work programme and outline its main priorities for agriculture and fisheries over the next six months.
