There is a lot of icing in the mountains and there is a risk of hikers slipping on steep slopes, the Mountain Rescue Service of the Bulgarian Red Cross told BTA.

The weather is clear and relatively quiet. The rescue service added that over the past 24 hours they have not received any reports about people in distress or injured in the mountains.

The weather will be sunny in the mountains, with a light to moderate wind, temporarily strong west-southwesterly wind on the highest peaks. Highs: 10C at 1,200m, 4C at 2,000m, said the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology.
