The conditions for winter sports and hiking in the mountains are good on Saturday, the Mountain Rescue Service (MRS) of the Bulgarian Red Cross (BRC) told BTA.

The temperatures in the mountains are relatively high for the season, in the higher parts of the mountains it is windy and foggy. On Friday it rained in some mountain areas, the MRS said.

After an underground gas pipeline explosion incident in Bankya on Friday, three rescuers from the MRS with dogs were dispatched to the site. Due to the fire, which has not yet been completely extinguished, they were unable to undertake search operations. According to the latest information, two peope are still unaccounted for.
