Bulgaria's top men's tennis player, Grigor Dimitrov, advanced to the third round of Wimbledon on Thursday. Dimitrov, the number 10 seed, defeated China's Juncheng Shang 3-2, after battling for 3 hours and 29 minutes and losing the first two sets.

The match was initially scheduled for Wednesday but was postponed for Thursday due to adverse weather conditions. 19-year-old Shang secured the first set with a score of 7-5. The number 91 in the world ranking also won the second set after Dimitrov managed to force a tiebreak.

Dimitrov switched gears and managed to close the third set 6-4. He also excelled in the fourth set, dominating Shang with his serve. His momentum continued in the fifth set. Dimitrov secured a crucial break early and rode it all the way to victory, with 19 aces, 57 winners, and 42 unforced errors.
