The Bulgarian rhythmic gymnastics ensemble finished fourth in the group all-around competition at the European Rhythmic Gymnastics Cup in Baku (Azerbaijan), which is being held for the first time in the history of this sport.
Magdalina Minevska, Sofia Ivanova, Kamelia Petrova, Rachel Stoyanov and Margarita Vassileva played their five-hoop composition strongly and scored 37.750 points, but on three ribbons and two balls they made serious mistakes and received 29.150 points. Thus, the pupils of Vesela Dimitrova and Yasena Stoyneva scored 66.900 points to rank fourth in the all-around.
The champion was the ensemble of Israel with 73.550 points (38.400 on five hoops and 35.150 on ribbons and balls). The silver medal went to Italy with 71.700 (37.700 and 34.000), while hosts Azerbaijan came in third with 71.550 (37.550 and 34.000). Bulgaria was followed by Hungary, Georgia, Romania and the Republic of Korea.
