The Bulgarian National mixed martial arts team won one silver and four bronze medals from the MMA World Championship in Tirana, Albania, which took place on November 20-25.

After complete domination in the first round of the final bout, a big error at the start of the second round deprived Stefani Petrova (U48kg category) of the dream women's title. For the third year in a row, Petrova secured the silver medal and remained one step away from the world title.

The debutant at major championship Angel Aliev (weight category up to 52,2 kg) achieved two convincing victories, but fell short in his semi-final match. The loss left Aliev in third place and with a bronze medal.

The 2021 world vice-champion Kristiayn Kanev (U77.1kg) was also left with the bronze medal after three wins and a semi-final loss.

Bronze medals were also won by the two Bulgarian representatives in the 93 kg category - Georgi Petrov and Spas Hadjiev.
