site.btaAt Sofia Open, Britain's Draper Reaches His First ATP Tour Semi-Final

Jack Draper made it to his first ATP Tour semi-final with a last-eight victory against Cem Ilkel. The 21-year-old Briton took 75 minutes to defeat the Turkish wild card entrant, 6-2, 6-2, at the EUR 562,815 Sofia Open Tournament here on Thursday.

Draper, ranked 82nd in the world, quickly took a 3-0 lead in the first set and from there was able to comfortably ease to victory. He was strong on his serve, nailing three aces during the opener, and was never under threat as he dictated play without facing a single break point.

On Friday, the Briton will take on German third seed Jan-Lennard Struff for a spot in the final. Earlier on Thursday, Struff overcame Hungary's Fabian Marozsan, 7-6(3), 4-6, 6-4, to become the first semi-finalist at the 2023 Sofia Open.
