The Bulgarian men's national volleyball team lost 0:3 to Olympic champion France on Friday evening and dropped out of the European Championships, which it co-hosted with Italy, North Macedonia and Israel. In Monday's quarter-finals, the French will meet the Romanian team, which eliminated Croatia 3-2 in a hard-fought match.

Before the start of the match, everyone at the Palace of Culture and Sports in Varna paid a minute of silence in memory of the victims of the floods on the southern Black Sea coast.

After the loss, veterans Teodor Salparov and Georgi Bratoev announced that this was their last match for the national team.
