The Parkour World Cup was unveiled here on Friday. It was opened with a minute of silence in memory of the victims of the recent floods in Tsarevo (on the Black Sea). Among the official guests were Charles Perriere, President of the Parkour Commission at the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG), Organization Committee head Yordan Yovchev, and Bulgarian Gymnastics Federation President Krasimir Dunev.

In his speech, Yovchev thanked the FIG for the trust, noting that this is the third consecutive year of the FIG Parkour World Cup being organized here.

Some 100 contestants from 29 countries participate in the event from September 8 to 10. Bulgaria is represented by Martin Dimitrov and Yoan Dosev (freestyle) and by Kseniya Momchilova, Cvetelin Pachev, and Petar Petrov (speed).

Another Bulgarian contestant, Ruslan Peshev, got injured during Friday's last training before the FIG Parkour World Cup's opening and had to be taken to the hospital, the Bulgarian Gymnastics Federation said. Peshev was scheduled to compete in the freestyle and speed disciplines.
