Bulgaria at the Olympics:
Boxer Stoyka Krasteva Goes Through
Finals in Women's Fly Class

Tokyo, August 4 (BTA special correspondent Dimiter Velyov) - Stoyka Krasteva on Wednesday became the first Bulgarian woman finalist in an Olympic women's boxing tournament after winning on points, 5-0, against Japan's Tsukimi Namiki, 22, bronze medal winner from the 2018 World Championship.

The 35-year-Bulgarian has on her record a European champion's title (2018) and two silver medals from world championships.

"I am proud to be Bulgarian, to be here, and that things are working out so wonderfully for us. My advantage combines a strategy, performance and the efforts of everybody on my crew," Krasteva said. "Wishing to be an Olympic champion is quite normal, but I would by no means commit to any promises. I will try to perform exactly according to the strategy and information and tactics that will be provided to me. If I make it, I'm sure I'll win," the finalist said.

Krasteva will contest the Women's Fly (48-51kg) title with Turkey's Buse Naz Cakiroglu (European champion and world silver medalist) on August 7. RI/LG
