In September 2025, the overall business climate indicator increased by 0.6 percentage points compared to August, with growth observed in the industry and retail trade sectors, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said on Tuesday. An uncertain economic environment, labor shortages, and sector competition continue to be among the main factors limiting business development in these sectors.
According to NSI data, a year earlier, the indicator had decreased by one percentage point on a monthly basis, due to a more unfavorable business climate in the industrial sector.
The business climate in the industry sector in September 2025 rose by 0.5 percentage points, which is attributed to improved assessments by industrial entrepreneurs regarding the current business situation of their enterprises.
In the construction sector, the indicator decreased by 2.3 percentage points as a result of more reserved expectations by construction entrepreneurs about the business situation of their enterprises over the next six months.
In retail trade, the indicator increased by 6.2 percentage points due to improved assessments and expectations of retailers about the business situation of their enterprises.
In the services sector, it declined by 1.6 percentage points due to worsened assessments by managers regarding the current business condition of their companies.
