The Tourism Guarantee Fund will be a key tool for consumer protection and a guarantee for the stability of the sector, Deputy Tourism Minister Irena Georgieva said during a conference of the Association of Bulgarian Tour Operators and Travel Agents (ABTTA) in Sofia on Tuesday. She recalled that the bill has already been submitted to the National Assembly and is awaiting review.
Georgieva stressed the important role of Association in the preparation of the bill and the organization's active participation in the dialogue between businesses, the state, and international institutions. According to her, the association is a strategic partner that contributes both to the competitiveness of tour operators and travel agencies, and to the protection of consumer interests.
“Tourism has always been a mirror of society – sensitive to changes and at the same time a driver of economic and socio-cultural development,” Georgieva said.
Among the priorities for the development of tourism, Irena Georgieva outlined the implementation of artificial intelligence, digitalization, sustainable development, and the strategic positioning of destinations. At the same time, she emphasized the importance of the human factor and the training of personnel, which remains crucial for the quality of tourism services.
