Monthly inflation in Bulgaria in June 2025 stood at 0.4%, while annual inflation reached 4.4%, according to data released by the National Statistical Institute (NSI) on Tuesday. Inflation since the beginning of the year (June 2025 compared to December 2024) is 2.4%, and average annual inflation for the period July 2024 – June 2025 compared to July 2023 – June 2024 is 2.9%.

Inflation is measured using the Consumer Price Index (CPI). The monthly figure refers to June 2025 compared to the previous month, and the annual rate compares June 2025 to the same month of the previous year.

In June 2025, compared to May 2025, the largest price increases were seen in the following groups:

  • Recreation and culture: +2.8%
  • Restaurants and hotels: +1.3%
  • Alcoholic beverages and tobacco: +0.8%
  • Transport: +0.7%

Price decreases were registered in:

  • Clothing and footwear: –0.6%
  • Communications: –0.2%
  • Miscellaneous goods and services: –0.1%

Prices in the group “Furnishings, household equipment and routine maintenance of the house” remained unchanged.

Back in May 2025, monthly inflation was 0.0% and annual inflation stood at 3.7%, according to NSI data.
