A roundtable discussion Horizons for Bulgarian Agriculture was held in the National Assembly on Wednesday.
Through cooperation among the academic community, agricultural producers, their industry organizations, and political representatives, the event aimed to develop and implement effective, long-term, and sustainable policies in the agricultural sector.
“We would like the forum to be nonpartisan because the problems of agriculture cannot be partisan,” said Parliament's Deputy Chair Yuliana Mateeva, patron of the forum.
Participants in the discussion included Petko Vasilev, Chair of the Bulgarian Seed Industry Association; Irena Atanasova, Director of the Nikola Pushkarov Institute of Soil Science, Agro-Technologies and Plant Protection; Prof. Dr. Bozhidar Ivanov, Director of the Institute of Agricultural Economics; along with representatives from the academic sector, agricultural producers, industry organizations, representatives of both parliamentary and non-parliamentary political parties, and members of the Parliamentary Committee on Agriculture, Food, and Forestry.
