At the 113th Session of the International Labour Conference in Geneva, Bulgarian employers’ delegate, attorney Ivelin Zhelyazkov, presented a report on June 10 on behalf of the Association of the Organizations of Bulgarian Employers (AOBE), the Association said Wednesday.
Zhelyazkov reaffirmed AOBE’s representative status for a new four-year term and emphasized the importance of continuing social dialogue with the Government and trade unions to improve the investment climate, create decent jobs, and ensure fair pay.
He called for the adoption of a mechanism for negotiating and setting the minimum wage, in line with International Labour Organization's (ILO) Minimum Wage Fixing Convention, which Bulgaria has ratified but not yet implemented.
Highlighting recent economic achievements, Zhelyazkov noted Bulgaria’s fiscal discipline, low taxes, entry into the Schengen Area, and its upcoming accession to the eurozone on January 1, 2026. These developments, he said, enhance Bulgaria’s investment climate.
He concluded by reaffirming Bulgarian employers' commitment to supporting the role of the ILO and the International Labour Conference as a key platform for global labour dialogue.
