site.btaSunny Beach’s North Beach Earns 2025 Blue Flag Award as Bulgaria Marks 30 Years in the Programme

The North Beach in Sunny Beach resort is among Bulgarian sites that have received the international environmental Blue Flag Award for 2025. Arrangements for the summer season have already begun with lifeguard and medical stations being prepared.

The beach will officially open for the summer season as usual on June 1, the concessionaire company told BTA. From that day, lifeguards will be at their posts and a medical service will also be provided to provide assistance in case of need.

BTA is presenting all 30 Bulgarian beaches and harbours awarded the Blue Flag by the international jury of the Programme in Copenhagen. It is the 30th anniversary of the first award for the country - the pilot Blue Flag was raised on Sunny Beach on July 4, 1995.
