site.btaKozloduy N-plant Starts Using Alternative Fuel

The Kozloduy N-plant started using alternative fuel in its Unit 5. A special event was held on the occasion, and it was attended by caretaker Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev and caretaker Energy Minister Vladimir Malinov.

In implementation of its programme for diversification of its nuclear fuel, Kozloduy has signed a contract with Westinghouse Electric Sweden AB for the supply of fuel for unit 5. The first shipment arrived in April and Kozloduy said that the refueling would be done as Unit 5 was switched off for scheduled annual maintenance on May 5.
