site.btaHousing Loans Increase by 22%, Consumer Loans by 13.1% at End-February Y/Y
Housing loans increased by 22% and consumer loans by 13.15 at the end of February on an annual basis, shows Bulgarian National Bank data for February 2024, published on the website of the central bank on Tuesday.
Loans to households and non-commercial organizations serving households amounted to BGN 39.411 billion (19.9% of GDP) at the end of February this year. Compared to the same month of 2023, they increased by 17.1%.
At the end of February, housing loans amounted to BGN 20.520 billion and increased by 22% on an annual basis. Consumer loans amounted to BGN 17.204 billion and increased by 13.1 percent compared to February 2023.
At the end of February 2024, the deposits of the non-governmental sector were BGN 127.728 billion (64.5% of GDP), and their annual increase was 8.5%.
Deposits of non-financial enterprises were BGN 43.054 billion (21.7% of GDP) at the end of February. Compared to the same month of 2023, they increased by 5.1%. Deposits of financial enterprises went up by 0.5% on an annual basis in February 2024 and at the end of the month reached BGN 3.844 billion (1.9% of GDP).
Deposits of households and non-commercial organizations serving households were BGN 80.831 billion (40.8% of GDP) at the end of February, increasing by 10.8% compared to the same month of 2023.
