site.btaAgricultural Land from State Land Fund to Be Leased through Auction, MPs Decide at First Reading

MPs adopted on first reading on Wednesday changes to the Bulgarian Agricultural Land Ownership and Use Act related to the leasing of agricultural lands from the state land fund through an auction. The bill was tabled by GERB-UDF and Continuing the Change - Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB) and was unanimously supported.

The bill proposes that agricultural lands from the state land fund be leased through an auction to local individuals and legal entities and cooperatives registered on the territory of the municipality according to the location of the properties.

The proposal included change the terms and conditions for renting out without an auction to pastures and meadows from the state and municipal land fund to owners or users .

MPs agreed to reduce the time limit for proposals between the first and second reading to five days.
