The number of people who started work in November increased month-on-month, the Employment Agency said on Friday. A total of 14,479 unemployed started work, 10% more than in October. 

The largest share was in the processing industry (18.2%), followed by public administration - (17.6%), trade (12%), hotel and restaurant industry (5.7%), etc. The high share of unemployed people who started work in public administration was due to the involvement of more than 3,000 persons in emergency activities to overcome the consequences of the disasters that struck the country in October.

During the month, 254 pensioners, students and employed people found work with the support of the labour offices. 

A total of 1,128 unemployed persons started work in EU countries with the mediation of the labour offices.

A total of 3,408 unemployed people from at risk groups found employment through subsidized jobs.

The level of registered unemployment in the country in November remained at 5.5%,  without a significant change compared to the month of October. The number of registered unemployed at the end of the month was 156,657, an increase of 841 persons.

Representatives of the primary market declared 7,582 vacancies in labour offices during the month, compared to 10,529 in October 2023. In the real economy, the most vacancies were in the processing industry (24.3%), public administration (13.2%) trade (13.1%), and education (12%), followed by administrative and auxiliary activities (6.6%), hotel and restaurant industry (6.1%).

The most sought-after occupations by businesses in November were: support staff; sellers; machine operators of stationary machinery and equipment; workers in the mining and processing industries, construction and transport; personal services; business and administrative specialists; teachers; waste collection and related workers; hygienists; metallurgists, machine builders, craftsmen, etc.
