The opportunities for deepening energy cooperation between Bulgaria and Italy were the main focus of the meeting between Energy Minister Rumen Radev and Italian Ambassador to Bulgaria Giuseppina Zarra, the Energy Ministry here said on Tuesday.

The talks, held at the Ministry, reviewed the excellent bilateral relations and highlighted the potential for deepening cooperation in the field of technologies related to the production of green hydrogen and electricity. Challenges to the energy transition, energy diversification and security of access to energy resources were also among the topics discussed. 

The meeting underlined the close friendship and cooperation between Bulgaria and Italy with a concrete commitment to address common challenges and promote broader cooperation in areas of mutual interest, as well as within the framework of European programmes in the energy sector.
