site.btaOECD to Present Its Economic Survey of Bulgaria on April 4

The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) will present its latest Economic Survey of Bulgaria on Tuesday 4 April, the organization said Wednesday. The document examines Bulgaria’s economic performance in the face of global and domestic challenges and makes policy and reform recommendations to strengthen and sustain the recovery.
A special chapter takes an in-depth look at how Bulgaria could create more high-quality jobs and improve social protection as a way to raise productivity and incomes, OECD said in an advisory.
OECD Secretary-General Mathias Cormann will present the Survey’s key findings and recommendations at a news conference he will hold jointly with Prime Minister Galab Donev.
Cormann will be meeting with Donev before that.
The preparation of the report is a mandatory step on the path of our country's accession to the OECD, the government press service said. On March 20, Foreign Minister Nikolay Milkov commented that membership of the OECD is the most important Bulgarian integration effort after the entry in the EU and NATO.
On August 11, 2022, the Council of Ministers adopted a decree on the organization and coordination of the process of talks and preparatory activities for the accession of Bulgaria to the OECD. The first meeting of the inter-departmental coordination mechanism for the country's accession to the OECD was held on August 29, 2022.
