Varna Airport is starting the summer season with a wide variety of destinations, the press service of the airport's concessionaire, Fraport Twin Star Airport Management AD, announced. After a record number of 18 destinations serviced by the airport in the winter period, management expects an increase in traffic in the summer compared to last. The airport told BTA that there will be five new destinations in the summer season.

Starting May 1, the national carrier Bulgaria Air will increase the frequency of its flights from Sofia to Varna, with three flights a day on weekdays and two on Saturdays and Sundays.

"Ryanair is adding 3 new routes to Varna - from Vilnius (Lithuania) and Katowice (Poland) starting in early June, and Krakow (Poland) from early July. Turkish Airlines is increasing the frequency on the Istanbul-Varna route from March 27, from 5 to 9 flights per week. From the same date, Austrian Airlines will operate flights connecting Varna with Vienna 6 times a week, and from April 10, there will be flights every day.

EasyJet, Volotea, Eurowings Discover and Air Serbia have also announced their plans for Varna Airport.

This year, for the first time, Azur Air Ukraine will operate flights to Varna from 2 Polish cities - Warsaw and Katowice, while another new airline, Arkia, will operate from Tel Aviv.

Charters from Germany this year start in the first half of May, the airport said.
