In 2020, Bulgaria allocated BGN 21,924.4 million for welfare benefits, the National Statistical Institute said. A total og BGN 11,142.3 million from the state budget was spent on financing social protection in the country, and income from social security contributions amounted to BGN 13,578.4 million.
