site.btaMitonissimo Orchestra to Perform Works by Bel Canto Masters Rossini, Donizetti and Bellini

Works by the masters of bel canto Rossini, Donizetti and Bellini will be performed on February 24 at the Military Club in Sofia. The audience will be able to enjoy operatic and instrumental works by the famous Italian composers who developed their style of the movement called bel canto, says conductor Ognian Mitonov.

Performing will be Petya Milenova (soprano), Olga Dinova (mezzo-soprano), Dobromir Momekov (baritone), Viktor Krastanov (bass) and the musicians of the Mitonissimo Orchestra under the baton of Ognian Mitonov, who will also be a clarinet soloist.

“One line in the concert programme includes arias and ensembles from some of the most famous operas by the three composers. The other line is of instrumental, orchestral works by the same composers, a little-known but very interesting aspect of their work,” says Ognian Mitonov.

Maestro Ognian Mitonov is a long-time conductor of the Music Theatre in Sofia. He is the founder and leader of the Mitonissimo Orchestra. For his activities as a conductor and organizer of musical events he was conferred the "Leader of the Year" award in the Music category in the first edition of the awards, which are given to personalities from different spheres of public life who with their leadership and social responsibility change the business environment, culture and society.
