Early in the morning on November 8, the Bulgarian naval research vessel Sv. Sv. Kiril i Metodii (RSV 421) passed through the Bosphorus Strait, said the Nikola Vaptsarov Naval Academy on their Facebook page on Friday.

The research ship also refueled at anchor from a bunker tanker, before continuing its expedition to the naval base of Cartagena in Spain, while sailing practice for cadets from the Naval Academy will be held on board.

The crew is under the command of ship captain Radko Muevski, with the vessel expected to reach its final destination in Antarctica and anchor near the Bulgarian base on Livingston Island in about 50-53 days, where the crew will stay for about 45 days.
