A photo exhibition titled "Bulgria from a Bird's-eye View" opened in the German city of Jena on October 17, the L. bulgaricus Jena e. V. Bulgarian-German association said on Facebook. It presents a collection of aerial photographs, taken with a lot of love and a precise look at the right moment and the colour composition, by Bulgarian photographer Alexander Ivanov, the association said.

Jena Mayor Thomas Nitzsche and the Director of the State Institute for Culture with Bulgaria’s Foreign Ministry, Snezhana Yoveva, were honorary guests at the event hosted by the space for culture and events at Kombinat 01 (Westbahnhofstr. 13), the association said. They were welcomed with the Bulgarian traditional hand-made bun and herbal dip, following which they continued their enjoyment of the evening with Bulgarian wine and a wonderful audience, they added.

Senior Expert Katalina Vasileva of the State Institute for Culture was also present, the institution said on Facebook.

„The collection of original photographs of natural and historical landmarks in Bulgaria by Alexander Ivanov delighted the guests and the visiting compatriots not only from Jena, but also from Erfurt and Weimar, as well as the German guests. Yoveva presented the main concept of the exhibition as well as key projects from the Institute's programme. During the visit, she had working discussions with the Mayor of the city, Mr. Nitzsche, with Elisa Calzolari and Michael Saad of the organization of migrants in Thüringen, MigraNetz Thüringen e.V., who are actively working with our compatriots, as well as with a group of inspired students from different fields of study from Friedrich Schiller University, who are studying Bulgarian language and culture, the State Institute for Culture informed.

The exhibition is being held with the assistance of the State Institute for Culture of Bulgaria’s Foreign Ministry as part of the 7th Bulgarian Cultural Days in Jena organized by L. bulgaricus Jena e. V. and financed by the State Chancellery of Thuringia, the association chaired by Denitza Kisseler said earlier.

Bulgaria from a Bird's-Eye View will be on view until the end of 2024, with visiting hours from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
