site.bta100th Birth Anniversary of Konstantin Iliev Marked at National Opera with Concert, Film Screening

On October 9, the National Opera will host a concert dedicated to the 100th birth anniversary of Konstantin Iliev, one of the key individuals in the history of Bulgarian music. Also on the event's programme is a screening of a film by director Nikolay Yotov and operator Plamen Gerassimov that presents the famous conductor and composer, the Sofia Opera and Ballet said Friday.

The film, titled Fragments in Memory of Konstantin Iliev, is from the national television's fund.

At the concert, Anastasia Detistova-Abadzhieva, Ivan Staykov, Pepa Dzheneva, and Hristo Ivanov will perform Quarter No.1. Also to be performed is the first part of The Master of Boyana opera, under the baton on Georgi Dimitrov. To participate are Sofia Opera's orchestra and choir.
