site.btaVice President Meets Participants in "Picturesque Bulgaria" Conference

Vice President Iliana Iotova met with participants in the third international travelling conference "Picturesque Bulgaria", the President's press office said on Wednesday. The multidisciplinary project, which is held under the auspices of the Vice President, involves young people and their teachers from 11 universities from nine countries with their research. The initiator of the forum is the University of Plovdiv with the support of the Education Ministry. The Sofia University is also participating with its own projects.

Participants draw tourist routes related to Bulgarian literature, culture and history. The project covers a wide range of topics - from urban exploration to cultural reinterpretations of the wedding to Bulgarian literary subjects and their projection in the literature of other European countries. Among the themes are the study of the image of Bai Ganyo, of Bulgarian travelogues in the works of Bulgarian and Italian authors, of unknown contemporary poets, of various folklore motifs, etc.

"Your research adds to the world picture of knowledge about Bulgaria. Your works are even more valuable for us, Bulgarians. The idea of Bulgaria that we get through your eyes enriches us as well," the Vice President said, addressing the participants.
