The organizers of the Exit music festival have announced a new event - a festival in Varna, Bulgaria this year as a pilot project, and the plan is for this to become a major festival event with many stages and performers next year, Tanjug reports. According to festival director and founder Dusan Kovacevic, Exit is expanding the network of festivals in the region and remains one of the most important festival groups in the world.

"I am happy to announce the cooperation of two festivals, in Novi Sad and in Varna. Next year's festival will be a big one, after this year the two cities were twinned," Kovacevic said. He added that this year's festival will be on a bigger stage with a varied programme, and next year's festival will be even bigger because Bulgarians are one of the main visitors to the Exit festival in Novi Sad.

Novi Sad's Culture Secretary Dalibor Rozic said that Exit has been working on regional integration for twenty years. "Exit independently contributes to all this. Through its cultural programme, Exit also contributes to the development of our city when we talk about cultural tourism, from which the city can develop,” Rozic said.

Varna Mayor Blagomir Kotsev said that this year the festival in the city will be significantly smaller than the one in Novi Sad. "This is the first time I am at Exit and I am impressed. I am glad that we are starting our cooperation. Next week we will also announce Exit in Varna. It is a city that is similar to Novi Sad and I hope the festival will be a success," Kotsev said.

Exit's mission from the start has been to connect regions and promote peace, as well as enrich the cultural pool through the development of creative industries and festival tourism.

The last night of the Exit Festival in Novi Sad was marked by the performance of the American rock guitarist Tom Morello.

The festival's smaller stages featured performers from different musical genres. Saturday was the best attended day of the festival. During the previous five days, tens of thousands of people from different parts of the world passed through the fortress of Novi Sad, and the festival featured almost 600 performers from different musical genres - rock, rap, hip-hop and others - typical of the festival, which ran from July 10 to 14.
